Faux rattan, with its carefully woven construction to mimic the craftsmanship and care of real rattan, can feature some color variation between fiber dye lots, with some pieces appearing slightly lighter or darker. Changes in light and environment can impact how the color is perceived as well. Additionally, you can expect some minor flaking over time, a characteristic that is inherent to the charm of this material.
Teak is known for its durability, strength, and resistance to moisture, making it a suitable choice for the outdoors. Given that it’s a natural material, grain pattern and color can vary slightly from piece to piece, offering each item a personalized touch.
Keep in mind that without proper care, the finish can change to a silvery gray over time due to direct sunlight and exposure to the elements, and consistent moisture can cause the woodgrain to raise. Teak also tends to expand and shrink with age and environmental changes, so you may notice hairline cracks appear in the wood as time passes.
